The Dangote Group has declared its intention to ship refined petroleum products.
The Group President’s Senior Advisor on Special Projects and Strategic Relations, Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, made this news in a statement on Sunday.
She mentioned that when the refinery was being developed, a jetty was built in the Lekki Free Zone to accommodate bulk cargoes. Through the ports, we already export our products to several African nations. We also intend to reduce the amount of traffic on the refinery’s roadways by shipping completed petroleum products by sea to various ports along Nigeria’s coast, where they will then be distributed further inland, the spokesperson stated.
The organization states that the goal of this project is to ease the burden on road systems and enable exports to neighboring African nations.
As per the statement, the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s trade show, which was sponsored by the Dangote Group, drew a sizable audience that was enthusiastic about discovering more about the refinery’s cutting-edge technology, which had just started releasing petroleum products.
In addition, a lot of people attended and looked at the company’s many business divisions, which include Dangote Fertilizer, Dangote Sugar, Dangote Cement, and NASCON (Dangote Salt).
“I am here at the Dangote booth to find out what business and job opportunities are available at the Dangote Refinery,” said attendee Peter Ibrahim, according to the statement. We are aware that the business must have generated several opportunities. Likewise, Sale Sagir, a cement merchant, said, “I’ll be honest. The Dangote Group is the reason I attended this trade show. I used to sell cement, but I’ve now learned what it needed to distribute other goods, particularly those made by Dangote Petroleum.
In addition, Wali-Abdurrahman emphasized the company’s use of compressed natural gas, saying, “We have converted about a third of our fleet over the past ten years to reduce our carbon footprint and costs.” This procedure will not end until the entire fleet has been converted. Chief Emeka Obegolu, the president of the ACCI, praised the Dangote Group for its important contribution to Nigeria’s industrialization.
He spoke about the company’s “unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s development,” and Vice President Legal Aisha Abdullahi represented him. He also said that the taxes paid by the group have significantly contributed to national revenue, funding social programs and infrastructure projects that benefit millions of Nigerians.
