There aren’t many players in football like Victor Osimhen, who claims he is worth more than a €100 million estimate.
The Napoli striker, who recently signed a season-long loan with Galatasaray, is still making waves in the football world for his on-field exploits. In the previous summer transfer window, he was one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe, with links to major European teams like Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and Liverpool.
In the last hours of the transfer season, Chelsea and PSG were on the verge of signing the Super Eagles striker, but the agreement broke down due to his huge €130 million release clause, forcing the team to consider a loan move to Turkey.
The Blues were preparing a £40 million January raid for the 25-year-old, according to trade specialist Fabrizio Romano, who spoke with Caught Offside on Monday. The estimated £40 million price tag for the current Africa Player of the Year was viewed by some fans as absurd, even when the Italians clarified that no conversations are currently taking place amid tales of behind-the-scenes preparations at Stamford Bridge.
In light of this, the athlete asserted that he was worth more than €100 million while discussing his valuation following the difficulties in the most recent transfer window brought on by Napoli’s termination clause.
With two goals in a dramatic 3-3 draw against Kasımpaşa last weekend, Osimhen has already made a big impression in Turkey. So far in four games, he has four assists and two goals.
Osimhen paid a club record €70 million plus an additional €10 million in bonuses to join Napoli from Lille in the summer of 2020.
He was at his best for the Parthenopeans for two seasons, leading them to their first Scudetto title in more than thirty years in the 2022–2023 campaign. He scored 26 goals in the league, good for the Serie A top scorer award.
