Justice David Amilcar Shikomera Majanja, born in 1966 in Kenya, is a prominent figure in the Kenyan judiciary. He completed his secondary education at Starehe Boys Centre and pursued a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Nairobi, followed by a Master of Laws from the University of Pretoria.

Starting his career as an advocate, Justice Majanja gained recognition in private practice before his pivotal appointment as a High Court Judge in 2011. He currently serves at the Milimani Civil Division in Nairobi.

In his role as a High Court Judge, Justice Majanja has significantly contributed to the judiciary. He has chaired the Human Resource Management Committee and has been a member of committees such as Audit, Governance, Risk Management, and Learning and Development. These positions have enabled him to influence key judicial reforms and enhance administrative efficiency within the Kenyan judicial system.

Active in the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), Justice Majanja was first elected in May 2019, representing the Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association. His re-election in May 2024 for another five-year term reflects the confidence his peers have in his leadership and commitment to judicial matters.

Throughout his career, Justice Majanja has been acknowledged for his dedication to justice and his efforts in legal reforms in Kenya, ensuring fair and effective judicial processes.

Justice David Majanja is married to Rebecca Villalobos Justice, and they have three children together: David Jr., Raquel, and Dionisio. He belonged to the Luhya tribe and passed away on July 10, 2024, at Nairobi Hospital after a brief illness. His legacy as a respected High Court Judge and his contributions to the Judicial Service Commission will be remembered fondly in Kenya’s legal community.
