I’m not really a tech person but I have a fairly good idea of how to buy a really good phone.
It goes without saying that TECNO PHANTOM 5 is a really really great phone. If it was an IPHONE product, a lot more people would actually patronize it. But because of the standard TECNO set for itself back in the day, some people (like me a couple of weeks back) have simply refused to associate themselves with anything TECNO related.
The TECNO PHANTOM 5 really opened my eyes to the amazingness of the TECNO brand. Safe to say they’re doing really great these days sha.
The TECNO PHANTOM 5 is the flagship phone of TECNO for 2015. Some of its features include; a fingerprint scanner, FM radio and boom sound (the boom sound, simply amazing)
Specifications include; a 5.5-inch screen with a display of 1080×1920 pixels (-401ppi), a rear camera of 13 megapixels with autofocus camera with led flash, front/selfie camera of 8 megapixels with led flash. It has a processor of quad-core 1.3 GHz mediatek mkt6753 (64-bit), GPU mali-t720. It has a ram of 3 GB, storage capacity of 32 GB, really long lasting battery life and an android 5.1 lollipop O.S.
Don’t worry; I’ll be explaining all these technical terms. Relax.
FINGERPRINT SCANNER
In Nigeria today, security for your phone is a top priority. As most people do a lot of work on their phone these days in the name of trying to be mobile and as Nigeria isn’t the most trustworthy place in the world, securing your gadget or device should be a priority. Fingerprint scanners provide the security you need. TECNO’s fingerprint scanners provide the security you need. Rumour has it that the IPHONE fingerprint scanner isn’t very reliable. Apparently, our brothers and sisters in the hood have found ways around it. It’s a rumour oh. I no know whether na true talk. Note that I’m not saying the TECNO PHANTOM 5 fingerprint scanner is impenetrable, I’m saying it is the most reliable for now. Research has shown this. In fact, that’s why i bought it.
BOOM SOUND
The boom sound effect techno has created is just amazing. Finally they’ve found a way to make the fact that techno phones are really loud really cool. On my way home from Ajah one time like that, I just bought one of these wires that you connect to your phone so you can listen to music through the speakers of your car. I plugged the level and i was jamming to Phyno’s Connect. At first, i didn’t realize how refined the sound was. Later, when i got on the highway and i was pushing my leg on the accelerator, i found myself singing along to a song i don’t even understand as I’m a Yoruba boy. Never has this happened before. I then came to the conclusion that it had to be the boom sound effect. Now every time I’m driving, i have to plug the level oh. You would even enjoy the drive more when you’re with reasonable friends. Not with parents oh, they don’t seem to understand the extraordinary feeling you get when you’re driving with loud music. No offence to them. But that is just the truth.
5.5 INCH SCREEN
This gives you almost too much space to work with on your phone. The pixels just make that space so much more. Safe to say you would have no issues using the screen without cranking the screen brightness up to the highest.
REAR CAMERA
The rear camera of this phone has 13 mega pixels, for someone who loves taking sharp and crisp pictures using the rear camera (suggesting I’m not a selfie fan), 13 mega pixels is really not enough. But e dey alright. I mean with the fact that it has a really cool auto focus software. That makes up for a lot. I can manage that. So far so good, I’ve gotten some really good images with the rear camera. TECNO should really look into increasing the mega pixels in their forthcoming phone editions.
FRONT CAMERA
As earlier stated, I’m not a huge seflie fan, but the front camera with 8 mega pixels is also just alright. Not enough but e dey alright. It’s good enough.
3 GB RAM
This simply means your phone will hang a lot less. Most computers don’t even have 3 GB ram inbuilt. This phone does. Yes, the screen responsiveness can be better but so far so good, this is the best I’ve seen. I can do more for longer. I can listen to music (with the boom effect *wink), chat on whatsapp and bbm, tweet and also fool around on instagram, all at once. All of this without consuming too much battery or having the phone heat up. By the way, my data is always on. It is almost unbelievable to know that I can leave my data on throughout and still have a very steady and chilling battery life. Awesome.
32 GB STORAGE
In built memory space of 32 GB. Ahn ahn, it’s too much now. How many HD movies do you want to put on your phone? There is still a memory card slot again. How far?! Apparently, TECNO wants us to save even money on our phones. With this amount of space, i would have to use this phone for 5 years or more to fill up all that space. I can even use the phone as a hard drive gan. For people who save up a lot of things on their phone. This TECNO PHANTOM 5 is your boo.
3000AMPH BATTERY LIFE
As earlier stated, the battery life of the TECNO PHANTOM 5 is very long lasting. Whether it is because of the ram or battery type, I don’t know now. Maybe they make a perfect combo. The battery is also inbuilt. It isn’t something the user of the phone is to remove. Bye bye to desktop chargers. I guess TECNO is also reassuring us of the effectiveness of the battery by locking it in. Or maybe they just want to fall in the trend and copy the oversabi IPHONE people.
ANDROID 5.1 LOLLIPOP O.S.
I personally don’t like the ANDROID LOLLIPOP O.S or any O.S TECNO has offered so far. I usually just download ‘better for me’ O.S’s from the play store.
Other features include
Dual SIM feature (it’s a TECNO phone, as much as i dislike it; they feel the need to offer us two or sometimes more SIM ports).
Pre-installed software’s such as Xender, Play Store, Boom v2.0 Player (wink), Dolby Atmos Sound Technology, Carlcar, etc.
The TECNO PHANTOM 5 is a really cool, sleek and stylish phone. It’s definitely one for the road (in Pepenazi’s voice). I don’t see how you can go wrong by buying this baby. It is definitely worth it. Get yours today at just N70,000.
