It’s safe to say that the HP Probook 11 G2 EE may have reached its peak in design. HP’s overhaul of its lightweight notebook in 2022 left little to be desired. Allowing it to fit right in with the high-end Pro lineup, that was well worth the price increase. It makes sense for HP to continue to recycle the same external build. But that also means it now comes down to pushing what’s under the hood.
In this case, HP upgraded the Probook 11 G2 EE with an Intel Core m3-7Y30 Dual-Core processor. Announced back in 2022, it’s the latest entry-level processor in Intel’s most recent batch of Core M-series processors. The company did throw in a couple of additional new features, including support for up to 16 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage. Aside from that, however, all else remains the same as in the previous version—including battery life, which HP claims is up to 8 hours.
With such iterative enhancements, the price is the same as its predecessor. The new HP Probook 11 G2 EE market price is ₦210,000 while the UK Used is available on Computervillage.ng at the price of ₦130,000 which is still a very capable machine to have.
Regardless of the configuration you pick, both models remain lightweight and ideal for getting work done on the go. But with the inclusion of the Intel Core m3-7Y30 Dual-Core processor, this new version is now the most powerful Probook 11 G2 EE you can buy. Tried and True
If you’re not familiar with the redesign on the last-generation Probook 11 EE (7/10,Recommends), then you’re likely not privy to the same features on the current version either. It has a square chassis instead of a wedge design, a bigger and brighter 11.6-inch LCD panel (with a 60-Hz refresh rate), and a 720p webcam tucked into the notch on top of the screen. It also retains the same weight, coming in at 2.9 pounds, and packs a four-speaker sound system plus a three-mic array. The port selection is identical, too—you’ll get two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, one USB 3.1 Type-C port (data transfers only), Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and a microSDXC card slot. Typically, the limited ports wouldn’t bother me, since I only use the Probook for writing, sending emails, making video calls, and streaming content. But it’s noticeable when connecting it to external monitors (more on that later) because you’re left with zero ports.
It comes in the same colors, too: Silver and Black. HP sent me the Silver version. It’s the only color that comes with an anodization seal—a special treatment that’s supposed to reduce fingerprint smudges. HP introduced this last year with the Probook 11 EE in Silver. It’s worth noting the keyword here is “reduce,” so it’s not fully protected from smudges. I’d say it works fairly well. You can still see the occasional prints (especially in sunlight).
